Disney Old Key West Resort
The Disney Old Key West Resort was the first Disney Vacation Club property built and offered for sale as a real estate interest to potential buyers. The units or rooms at this resort are the most spacious of all the Vacation Club resorts and the overall look and feel of Old Key West is a comfortable casual. The layout of the property resembles an apartment complex more so than a hotel or a resort. And although I would consider the size of the units a plus or a benefit, its location is not as convenient as some of the other Vacation Club resorts. If you like the beauty and relaxed environment that a golf course offers and want to stay in a quiet resort away from the energy and excitement of the parks then the Disney Old Key West resort is a good choice for you and your family. But, if you crave excitement and want to be in the middle of the action, another vacation club resort might better suit your needs. For example, Disney's Saratoga Springs is located within walking distance of Downtown Disney's Marketplace and the Boardwalk Villas is located on Disney's Boardwalk and within walking distance to Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Our family seems to have mixed feelings about the Disney Old Key West resort. I love it because of all the extra space and because of the fact that it is quiet at night. Everybody else in the family loves the spaciousness but it drives them nuts that they have to get in a car or catch a bus in order to find something to do other than swim or golf.
The roomy accommodations provide all the comforts and convenience of home and are perfectly suited for larger families or families staying for an extended period of time. The size of the rooms allows for everyone to stretch out without infringing on someone else's personal space.
The One, Two, and Three Bedroom Villas all have a Full size Kitchen.
The sofa in this spacious Living area is also a queen bed.

Get a taste of Southern hospitality at these down-home dining spots found at the Disney Old Key West resort. Olivia's Café - this little café serves delicious Key West style dishes like conch chowder and key lime pie that are sure to put you in an island state of mind. Turtle Shack - this quick counter-service shop serves fast food like burgers and fries.
Good's Food To Go - at this counter service eatery you can grab a quick snack or relax with a refreshing treat at one of the waterside picnic tables. Barbecue Grills - are located throughout the resort and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The atmosphere at this casual resort lends itself to relaxing by the pool but if you would prefer to take a more active role, there are plenty of other activities here to keep everyone busy. Arcades - resort guests have a choice of two arcades, the Electric Eel game room located at the Hospitality House and the Flying Fish game room located near the Turtle Shack snack bar.
Basketball - Guests can shoot some baskets or play a pickup game on the basketball court that are located adjacent to the Hospitality House. Balls are available at Hank's Rent-N-Return.
Biking - Bikes are available for rent at Hank's Rent-N-Return. It is fun to take a leisurely ride around this beautifully landscaped resort. Helmets and safety gear are also available.
Board Games - Bored? Then drop by the Couch Flat Community Hall in the Hospitality House for a chance to play some board games and other fun activities. We like to go play some of these games when the weather is not good enough to venture out and into one of the theme parks. Conch Flats Community Hall - is located in the Hospitality House. Stop by to unwind in front of a large-screen television, rent DVDs to take back to your room, check out the daily planned activities or play board games, foosball and table tennis. It is a great place to hang out for a while.
The Fitness Center - located at R.E.S.T. Beach or the Recreation, Exercise, Swimming and Tennis complex is located adjacent to the Hospitality House. The complex is a great place to work out on state-of-the-art exercise equipment, relax in the sauna or enjoy a massage at Slappy Joe's Massage Room. Locker rooms, showers and sauna are available to all Old Key West Resort Guests.
Jogging Trail - The Disney Old Key West Resort has a 1.37-mile walking/jogging trail-complete with views of shimmering waterways and lush green golf fairways. Trail maps are available at the Concierge desk in the Main Lobby of the Hospitality House.
Playground - Little ones can climb, slide and play to their hearts content at the playgrounds that are located near all 4 swimming pools.
Pools - The Disney Old Key West Resort has 4 heated pools. The main pool-located adjacent to the Hospitality House-has a water slide, children's pool and spa area. Guests may borrow inner tubes at Hank's Rent 'N Return. The three smaller pools are located in the Old Turtle Pond, South Point and Miller's Road sections.
Shuffleboard - the shuffleboard court is located near the Hospitality House. Shuffleboard equipment is available at Hank's Rent-N-Return.
Tennis Courts - The Disney Old Key West Resort has 3 hard court tennis areas-2 of which are lighted. Racquets and balls are available for rent at Hank's Rent 'N Return in the Hospitality House.
Watercraft Rentals - fun watercraft are available for rent at Hank's Rent-N-Return. The dock is located behind the Hospitality House. Watercrafts for rent include Pedal boats, Canoes, Pontoon boats. Call 407-WDW-PLAY (939-0729) for additional information.
The Gurgling Suitcase - this poolside bar offers ice-cold beverages for the perfect outdoor refreshment while you play poolside in the hot Sun.
Conch Flats General Store - is located inside the Hospitality House building. Here you can buy Disney merchandise, stack up on groceries and pick up any vacation necessities that you might have forgotten.
Transportation - Guests can take buses to the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Downtown Disney and the water parks. If you can not find what you are looking for, you can search within our site by using the search box below.
